We are building the paperless office. Faxing was just the first target. We are going through every single process that requires paper and digitizing the workflow. We're eliminating the need for printers, scanners, fax machines, PDF editors and complicated electronic signature technology.

The average office worker uses 10,000 sheets of paper / year. This is not only a massive market, but also a huge opportunity to do good in the world.

DevOps / Back-end Engineer

Are you passionate about scaling and automating cloud-based websites? Love Puppet and deployment scripts? Want to take advantage of both your sys-admin and development skills? Join HelloFax as our first DevOps and help us scale as we grow!

Core responsibilities:

  • - Keeping our production website up and running smoothly
  • - Automating our deployment scripts
  • - Monitoring and automating our Amazon EC2 topology
  • - Working with the engineering team to make sure new features operate smoothly and scale
  • - Keeping our servers up to date with the latest software packages

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • - Helping us put together an automated testing and continuous integration suite
  • - Pitching in and help develop some user-facing features (only if you're interested)
  • - General troubleshooting / IT help for other employees

About you:

  • - Critical thinker who knows how to attack and solve problems
  • - Experience managing cloud-based websites
  • - Experience handling sys-admin type responsibilities for a production website
  • - Experience administering Apache and/or Nginx
  • - Expert with BASH and one or more scripting languages (such as Python)
  • - Background in security is a plus
  • - Experience with Puppet, Chef, and Selenium are all big pluses

Customer Support / Community Manager / Office Manager

If you're looking to break into the startup world, but aren't technical, HelloFax has the role for you. We're looking for someone to pitch in on a variety of non-technical roles. This person will work closely with the CEO and will also work with the Head of Marketing. At any given moment, you may be:

  • - Responding to a customer email
  • - Building out the knowledge base
  • - Giving a webinar about how to use the product
  • - Monitoring social network accounts: Twitter, Facebook, Google+
  • - Contributing to blogs for vertical markets
  • - Developing/managing lists of friendly customers for press/marketing purposes
  • - Working with brand ambassadors and other part-time customer advocates
  • - Ordering lunch and managing office snacks and schwag

Up to 50% of the time will be spent on support, so previous customer-facing experience is a plus. But most important is a passion to do what is needed and be a vital member of the Hellofax team.
